It's sounds ridiculous. But, the fact shows those who have sex once or twice a week have been shown to have higher levels of immunoglobulin A or IgA. Immunoglobulin A (IgA) is a blood protein that's part of your immune system. Your body makes IgA in order to fight off infections. IgA is found in mucous membranes, especially in the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts, and in saliva, tears, and breast milk. It appears to play a part in asthma and allergies.

The research was reported in "The Effect of Sexual Behavior on Immune System Function" and been presented at the Eastern Psychological Association Convention in April 1998.
However the researchers also found that individuals engaging in very frequent sexual activity - more than two times a week - had significantly lower levels of IgA than those individuals reporting sexual activity once or twice a week.
